Mushroom corals overcome live burial through pulsed inflation

Time-lapse videos of mushroom corals (Lobactis scutaria and Herpolitha limax) excavating themselves after becoming covered in sand. By speeding up time 300x it becomes apparent that the corals exhume themselves through a series of inflation pulses.
